Depository Safe
A depository safe allows an immediate drop of cash into a commercial grade safe, without needing actual access to the main body of the safe.
Ideal in situations where regular scheduled deposits are to be made throughout the day, thus avoiding the need to open the safe on frequent occasions. Perfect in homes, retail operations and restaurants.
Opening a safe is a case of entering the correct code on a electronic keypad (up to 8 PIN numbers) or using a set of keys. Money drop safes can be equipped with auto-tampering devices, such as an anti-fish hopper or saw tooth baffle to prevent a shoplifter from attempting to fish-out safe contents through the deposit slot.
The Mesa Safe Company, Blue Dot Safes, and AMSEC Safes all manufacture a series of robust electronic depository safes to serve as a cash drop or night depository. An immense selection of designs and sizes are available to accommodate particular security requirements. The SafeWizard® depository safe by AMSEC Safes features a state-of-the-art electronic controller to audit access to a safe, with the ability to document and control each access.
Electronic safes of this nature are constructed of a solid steel material with a door that is 1/2 inch of solid steel, and often come with drill resistant hard plates. To satisfy a secure fit, a safe box can feature 4 pre-drilled holes on both sides and top to allow for securely anchoring to a floor or wall area. Besides the drop slot (often situated at the front of a safe), most have one or two doors to allow for deposits of larger items, such as documents, jewelry, and other such valuables.
A front loading depository safe can measure in at 10"H x 14"W x 10"D, and weigh 25lbs for a small compact unit at home to 21"H x 30.8"W x 27"D, and weigh 290lbs for a commercial sized unit at a place of work.
If over night storage of valuable items is desired, than it might be more beneficial to opt for a floor safe installed in a concrete floor, or a composite safe to withstand all attacks by power saws, sledgehammers, drills, carbide disc cutters, etc. for excellent burglary and fire protection.
An electronic depository safe offers a great security measure against theft, either as a result of a robbery or an internal theft, allowing a swift deposit via a small slot at the top or front of the unit. These postal drop style safes are one of the most common designs relied on in business establishments today.
