Portable Door Alarm

A door knob guard, a door wedge guard, or a portable entry door guard are all types of portable door alarm units to protect a private residence form unauthorized entry, either as a result of detecting a vibration or having forced pressed against a door or door knob.

A doorknob guard is able to detect unauthorized entry as a result of vibration on a protected door. A portable unit (similar in shape to a padlock) is hung on a door handle and switched on - it will activate itself within 15 seconds or so. These security products can be used as an intruder deterrent and sound an eye piercing 95 dB siren. Or as a safety alert for an elderly relative or child, in which case a more pleasant chime alarm sounds.

Place a portable door wedge alarm in position (wedged under a door similar to all standard door stops) and it’s able to detect pressure or forced entry thru a door. Once turned on, these alarms activate within 10 - 15 seconds. These alarms are designed to emit a deafening 120 dB alarm if the contact metal plate is pressed or vibration is detected.

A portable entry door guard is foldable steel leg that prevents a door from opening; one end is wedged under a door handle and the other end is a non-skid foot to grip the floor. These intruder detection units can be equipped with a motion-sensitive alarm as an early warning sigh of someone attempting to open a door. Steel arm is adjustable, so able to accommodate most door handle sizes.

A dual-function security bar is similar in design to the entry door guard, but able to improve on security for either a sliding or hinged doors. A versatile design for reinforcing patio and hinged-door applications, with a padded foot that is isn't going to scratch or mark floor surfaces. And constructed in 20-guage steel to stand-up to 350lbs of pressure.

Portable door alarms offer an inexpensive solution to protecting a private residence if compared to some of the more costly home security equipment on the market today. For something that might just hang on a door handle, some of these alarms can be very effective in deed.
